Yes, MGNREGA wages would be increased by Rs 20 per day from 1 April, 2020. You will be paid Rs 202 per day as against Rs. 182. However, bear in mind that some MNREGA work may be disallowed owing to the social distancing guidelines in place.

The act ensures guaranteed employment for people in rural areas who volunteer to do unskilled manual work for hundred days in a financial year

The Central government has announced the following services for Employers and Employees
- For Employers, government will contribute both employer and employee contributions subject to the following conditions
- For businesses having less than 100 workers, where 90% of workers are earning less than Rs 15,000 per month, the government will pay 24 percent of their monthly wages, viz: employer contribution (12%) + employee contribution(12%), into your PF accounts for next three months to prevent disruption in your employment.
- For Employees, the government has announced a facility to claim an advance subject to the following conditions
- All registered individuals will be allowed to withdraw upto 75% of PF balance (Employee share and Employer Share) or 3 months PF wages or the claimed amount by the member whichever is the least.
- The purpose of the claim would be ‘Outbreak of pandemic’ (COVID-19). The services can be availed online at EPF site and through UMANG app available on google play store

The Central Government has announced an insurance cover of 50 Lakh for each health worker fighting COVID-19 in Government Hospitals and Health Care Centres For 90 days
a. Who is eligible for this insurance cover?
Safai karamcharis, ward-boys, nurses, ASHA workers, paramedics, technicians, doctors and specialists and other health workers working in government health centres, wellness centres, and Central/State government hospitals would be covered under this scheme
b. In what situation would the insured amount be paid to the covered persons?
If any eligible person meets with some accident while treating Covid-19 patients, then he/she would be compensated with an amount of Rs 50 lakh under the scheme.
The Central Government will provide such persons as are registered with National Social Security Schemes with Rs 1,000 (as a direct bank transfer) to tide over difficulties during the next three months. State specific measures are listed below:

a. Is every senior citizen/widow eligible for this grant?
No, only beneficiaries of National Social Security Pension schemes like Indira Gandhi old age pension scheme, Indira Gandhi DIsability Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi Widow Pension Scheme will be covered under this scheme
The Central government has assured every ration card holder with the following supplies free of cost as a one time measure: 5 kgs of either wheat or rice, along with 1 kg of pulses (as per regional preferences). These will be distributed through Public Distribution Service outlets. Overall state-wise benefits are as below:

a. What is a Ration card?
Ration cards are an official document issued by state governments in India to households that are eligible to purchase subsidized food grain from the Public Distribution System (under the National Food Security Act).
